The world just keeps getting crazier. Rioting, looting, and countless amounts of other acts of violence are now a daily occurrence not only in our little corner of the world but all over. The larger cities are the worst with crime rates rising daily. This is not the type of world we want to raise our children in, so my husband Jacoby and I decided to pack up a few essentials that we're able to carry and we're moving to a remote area in the county to escape the madness. We're leaving all technology behind and moving off the grid!
For now, at least, we've settled on a little plot of land deep in the countryside of Henford-on-Bagley. There are people nearby, but not many and they seem to be like-minded and as concerned as we are. Jacoby is a mastermind with his handiwork on his woodworking table and can create anything from simple little decorations to sturdy furniture and even showers, sinks, and tubs! He's going to create all we'll need and then create more to sell at the farmers market nearby. I've been working on knitting and crocheting and have become pretty good as well if I do say so myself. Each of my creations is completed with a little tag that says "Pretties by Parker".
I think we're going to be happy here. However, I'll be happier when Jacoby finishes our cabin and we can move out of this tent!
